Co-founders and co-operators of Brother’s Spirits in Buellton, California are Jeff and Joanne Lockwood. Jeff and Joanne are originally from Santa Barbara and were real estate developers for 25 years and retired but for the past ten years have owned and operated Bella Cavalli Farms and Vineyard, a ranch in the Solvang area. Jeff is a dedicated winemaker and he and Joanne make hand crafted small batch wines which they sell to an exclusive wine club membership only. Also operational on this ranch, and under the tutelage of the Lockwood’s, is an equine facility which is renowned as a performance horse training and rehabilitation center which is now considered one of the best and most advanced in the industry.
Jay Lockwood, the Head Distiller, has been a General Contractor and worked in the Custom Home industry for over 38 years. He built Custom Homes, Kitchen and Baths. Jay is also an accomplished musician as well earned his degree in Recording Arts & Science in San Francisco in his younger years and while in Austin & Los Angeles worked in local Recording Studios and Clubs doing live sound and recordings along with helping produce local band demos. His passion for the perfection in the homes he built and the music he produced show in the quality of the spirits they produce.
Jeff’s experience in business and as a hand crafted winemaker, along with his brother Jay’s dedication to the pursuit of a being Head Distiller and extensive research into this endeavor, have now led to their opening of “Brothers Spirits” in Buellton, California which will specialize in small batch hand-made liquors and spirits. They are, in fact, quickly becoming sought after by many for these highly crafted spirits.
